This year marks 10 years since Emily’s biological father left. To help deal with the trauma he caused in her life, Emily turned to songwriting and a legal name change.

“I was left deeply hurt and confused because I realized I never knew who this man truly was. People ask me if I think he changed, but truthfully, I think he’d been that way all along and had just been masking it. When the mask was finally taken off, I was terrified with the person I then saw because I didn’t know him at all. It’s been 10 years since my biological father left and I haven’t seen or spoken to him since 2012. I can’t change the past, but I can decide how I will let it shape my life. I was able to take a stand and reclaim my name because my former last name had so many painful memories attached to it. I wanted to properly honor my stepdad Daniel and the role he’s played in my life, so I went to the courthouse in April 2019 and legally changed my last name to Daniels.”

A trained vocalist, Emily has studied with A-List Vocal Coach Renee Grant-Willams (Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill).

In Spring of 2018, Emily performed at Tin Pan South, the world’s largest songwriters festival, at a featured Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) show. In 2019, she was recognized several times by NSAI as a “Writer to Watch” and awarded Honorable Mention in their highly competitive annual Song Contest presented by CMT. Additionally, she made her national radio debut on WSM AM Opry Radio on “Nashville Today” with Devon O’Day.

Emily was an official performer at BMI’s Key West Songwriters Festival in May 2019, which featured over 150 songwriters including Brad Paisley, Scotty Emerick, and Liz Rose.

Her debut single was released in March of this year and was featured on Medium, The Nashville Daily Podcast, Southern Fellow, and numerous country blogs. Her Summer single, “Ex on the Beach”, quickly followed and has garnered over 27k streams on Spotify as well as a lot of attention overseas on UK radio.

She has partnered with several brands for social media campaigns; most noteworthy includes Cracker Barrel, Molly Green boutique at the Green Hills mall in Tennessee, and Universal Music Group to promote Maddie & Tae and Jordan Davis’ new album releases.

Currently, she can be found performing on livestream on her Facebook and Instagram profiles regularly.

She is actively performing around town, and can frequently be seen at writers rounds and featured artist showcases at venues such as The Listening Room, City Winery, Belcourt Taps, The Original Tin Roof, Alley Taps, Ole Red, and many more.

Emily has organically grown an engaging audience on Instagram with over 12K followers.
