With a soulful sound similar to Eric Church, rising country artist Elvie Shane touches on the truth of addiction in his new song, “Pill“.
“Waking up needing, chasing that feeling”
The song’s lyrics tell how the family of an addict, who resides close, has the ability to come home to a safe place but chooses “rolling up dollars, living off dimes“. Being an addict and finding the next “pill” is more important than realizing the affects on the family and the “pill they have to swallow” – a hurtful truth many American families have to face.
Overall “Pill” is relatable, heartfelt and a must-listen.
