Listen to ‘Both Ways’ HERE

Both Ways captures Woods’ growing artistic ambition with bigger production and an expanded palette of sounds, suggesting those songs can exist comfortably alongside his more delicate acoustic numbers.”
– Rolling Stone Country

“Donovan Woods is an exquisite songwriter who captures the extraordinary aspects of everyday life.”
– PopMatters

Both Ways is a lovely, pensive collection of regrets, joys and humanisms… its stunning acoustic backings and ultra-present vocals are the foundation for this truly heartfelt narrative.”
– Parade Magazine

‘Both Ways,’ the new album from Polaris Prize & JUNO Award-nominated singer-songwriter Donovan Woods, is out today via Meant Well. With a hushed, yet urgent acoustic style and delicate, intricately arranged production, the album’s intimate sound and canon-worthy storytelling showcases Donovan as one of “very few writers who can make you laugh and break your heart in the same song” (NPR’s World Cafe). With inspirations ranging from feminist poet Bronwen Wallace to the novels of Alice Munro, ‘Both Ways’ has won Donovan praise from Billboard, American Songwriter, CBC, No Depression and more.

Having made a career out of writing songs in Nashville for artists, such as Tim McGraw, Billy Currington, and Charles Kelley (Lady Antebellum), Donovan has developed a sound and reputation as a performer in his own right with more than 1.2 million monthly listeners and over 60 million streams on Spotify alone. “Burn That Bridge,” the first single off ‘Both Ways,’ earned Donovan his second #1 on the national public radio charts in Canada, where the song remained for two consecutive weeks.

Donovan and his band, The Opposition, celebrate the release of ‘Both Ways’ by kicking off the tour with sold out shows – in the largest venues of his career to date – across Canada before heading to the US and Europe (full tour below).
