Deana Carter Set To Perform In Memoriam Tribute at 2nd Annual Carney Awards

AT THE 2ND ANNUAL CARNEY AWARDS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Deana Carter is set to perform the In Memoriam tribute at the 2nd Annual Carney Awards, to be held Sunday, October 30, at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.

Named in honor of the late Oscar-winning and six-time Emmy-winning actor Art Carney, the Carney Awards recognizes exceptional achievement in character acting. The Carney Award is presented to those character actors who have appeared in dozens of films and television shows and although people may not know their names, everyone knows their faces. Fred Willard will host, and presenters include Ed Asner, Joe Mantegna, Julie Hagerty, Mark Boone Jr. and Zane Lasky.

Deana Carter is an award-winning singer-songwriter whose CMA Song of the Year  “Strawberry Wine,” is still a mainstay on the airwaves after its release 20 years ago. Carter continues to tour across the country and write for some of country’s top hitters. She co-wrote the 2010 chart topper “You & Tequila” that was recorded by Kenny Chesney and was nominated for CMA’s “Song of the Year” and received two Grammy nods. Carter also collaborated with Charles Esten to write a song for the hit-television show, Nashville.
