NASHVILLE, TENN. – One of country music’s most promising new duos, Cross Atlantic are honoring the people and places that shaped them with their first single of 2021, “Dear Hometown.”  Available on all digital providers on Wednesday, February 17, “Dear Hometown” captures the married duo’s musical growth and the authenticity of their story, as well as a personal milestone for the band.

Band members Karli Chayne and James Sinclair-Stott wrote the autobiographical song with Porter Howell and Brady Seals, who are familiar to country fans through their time in Little Texas (“God Blessed Texas,” “My Love,” “What Might Have Been”). Co-produced by Derek George (Randy Houser, Joe Nichols) and Sinclair-Stott, the cinematic lyrics are crafted around Karli’s experiences of growing up in Bolivar, Missouri and reflects her deep musical roots.

“I wanted to write a song for them, because I think as you get older, you realize how much of you is ‘you’ because of where you came from,” Karli says. “This song is so special to us because we believe that chasing a dream like ours requires us to be fearless in certain ways, but all we really want to do is make our families and hometowns proud.”

Sinclair-Stott, whose hometown is Guernsey, UK, adds, “Everything about that song is true to Karli. We essentially stopped the write and interviewed Karli about everything about her hometown experience. We could have written 10 or 11 verses to that song.”

Always drawn to the stage, Karli grew up singing and performing in the Truman Lake Opry, a theater run by her family. When she was 15, she talked her parents into moving to Nashville from Missouri to pursue a career in country music. To chase that dream, the family of five left their hometown behind, yet the memories from that time come back to life in “Dear Hometown.” April 2021 will mark the 10th anniversary of that move to Nashville.

Karli and James met by chance in a Nashville coffee shop in 2015, and their immediate friendship turned into a musical partnership, and ultimately a marriage. In March, the duo will unveil a new video for “Dear Hometown,” incorporating photos of them as kids in their own hometowns, underscoring the emotional message of the song. The video will exclusively premiere on CMT.com in March.

“Dear Hometown” follows the release of fan favorites “Jigsaw Puzzle” and “Just a Word” in 2020. Uplifting and relatable, Cross Atlantic’s songs have received attention from BillboardCMT.com, and MusicRow, to name a few. They are preparing additional new music to be released this year.
