Nashville, Tenn. – This past weekend, Creed Fisher was recognized at the Texas Country Music Awards as the Roots / Alternative Artist of the Year.

The awards were held on Nov. 14 at the World’s largest Honkey Tonk, Billy Bob’s, in Fort Worth, TX. Other finalists for the award included: Teague Brothers, Flatland Calvary, Jamie Lin Wilson, and Shaker Hymns. This event was sponsored by The Hotel Drover in the Fort Worth Stockyards and Stockyards Heritage and was presented by the Texas Country Music Association.

Fisher credits this award to the people that support him and his music every day – his fans. He exclaims, “We had the honor of receiving the Texas Country Music Awards for Roots / Alternative Artist of the Year! I say ‘We’ because that is what it is, fans. It’s our award! You made it possible. I’m just a good ol’ boy telling our story about our people and our way of life. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, listened to a song, and shared the music with a friend. I’m truly grateful.”

This award comes on the heels of Fisher’s success this year. In 2021, he signed with Dirt Rock Empire and celebrated an album release, Whiskey and the Dog, which debuted at #4 on the iTunes Country chart and #17 out of all genres on the day of its release. He also experienced success on Texas Radio, received support on CMT for his music video “This Town,” and spent time on the road playing sold-out venues.
