Luke Combs Announced as Heartland Stampede’s First Headliner

2020 Festival Date Confirmed for June 25- 27

Topeka, Kan., — Country Stampede, known for bringing country music’s biggest stars to Manhattan, Kansas for over two decades, has permanently relocated to Topeka, Kansas to partner with Heartland Motorsports Park.  Announced today (6/20) during a press conference, Mayor Michelle De La Isla confirmed the music festival has rebranded to Heartland Stampede and the 2020 music festival is set to take place June 25-27, 2020 at the Heartland Motorsports Park with country superstar Luke Combs revealed as its first headliner.

“We are excited about Heartland Stampede coming to Topeka,” says Mayor Michelle De La Isla. “We wholeheartedly welcome all our guests and hope that as this event is in process our community demonstrates our values of customer care and hospitality. The economic impact and exposure this event will bring to our community is something we are all looking forward to.”

Annually drawing thousands of music fans to the city and bringing in an estimated eight million dollars to the economy each year, the move to Topeka brings much excitement to the community.

Country Stampede was created in 1995 to expand the country music experience in Kansas, where fans could experience the performances top headliners and discover future stars.   Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, Eric Church – not to mention hundreds of other great talents – have graced the Stampede stage in Manhattan, Kansas. Although the move from Manhattan to Topeka is bittersweet, festival officials are excited for what’s to come.

With over 650 acres, Heartland Motorsports Park stands out as one of the world’s finest multi-purpose entertainment destinations, with ample space for stages, camping sites, food vendors and more. The new home for Heartland Stampede promises an even better overall festival experience with room for growth.

The 2020 Heartland Stampede is already off to an exciting start with the announcement of record-breaking country star Luke Combs set to headline Saturday, June 27, 2020.  Combs recently became the first artist in the last 60 years with five tracks in Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Top 25, all the while achieving the largest streaming week ever for a country artist.  His new EP, The Prequel, out now via River House Artists/Columbia Nashville, is his first release following his double platinum-certified debut album, This One’s For You, which was released June 2, 2017 and has spent a total of 37 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart—the longest reign for a solo male artist in over 25 years.
