SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Kaitlyn Baker likes hot music and hotter food.

The country singer and songwriter has teamed up with Pepper Palace, one of the world’s leading producers of hot food products, and Food City to release Kaitlyn Baker Blackbird Hot Sauce. The Virginia-based supermarket chain is one of the fastest-growing in the United States. Baker’s sauce will be available at all 136 of the company’s grocery stores in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.

“I grew up shopping at Food City,” Baker said. “I love how they are so involved in the communities where they are located. I’m also a huge fan of Pepper Palace’s products. It’s an honor to be involved with both incredible companies.”

Baker has been associated with Sevierville-based Pepper Palace since 2014, when the self-proclaimed “Planet’s #1 Hot Shop” began manufacturing Kaitlyn Baker’s BURN Sauce, which is still available at her concerts and through her website. However, the singer wanted a milder-flavor sauce for fans with more sensitive taste buds.

“I would describe my new Blackbird Hot Sauce as a mild to medium, smoky chipotle sauce,” Baker said. “It makes a great marinade for chicken or a good dipping sauce for pretty much anything. It’s very versatile. It’s not very hot, but it has a great depth of flavor.”

Like her BURN Sauce, Blackbird Hot Sauce is named after one of Baker’s songs. “Blackbird,” the title track of an EP that she released in 2018, was inspired by the memory of her friend and late band member, Thomas Estep, whose nickname was Blackbird. Estep was killed by a drunk driver on New Year’s Day, 2017.

Baker, who is originally from Pound, Virginia, has been attracting attention in Nashville, since 2015, when her song “Coal Train” was included on the ACM Awards ZinePak, a 2-CD compilation album produced by the Academy of Country Music. She has performed coast to coast, including appearances on the nationally syndicated public television concert series “Song of the Mountains,” Country Jam Colorado, the Young Artist Awards in Los Angeles and the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day Parade.

Kaitlyn Baker’s music is available through iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and other digital outlets. Information about her is available at www.KaitlynBaker.com.
