With strong vocals and a pop/rock edge, Country/Pop artist Abigail Neilson‘s new single “Left Unsaid” is a self-written message reflecting upon one’s feelings and thoughts after a horrid breakup. Imagine falling in love with someone and naively thinking every is fine and will last forever, only to be blindsided and discarded. With her heart on her sleeve, the lyrics read as if directly off of a page in one’s diary; that sense of confidence and security to get off your chest what needs to be said, as if that person is right there:

Do you even hear yourself?
Lying to my face
Trying to place the blame on someone else
Is it making you better
Saying you regret
All the years spent between you and me
Yeah it feels nothing to you now
Is it making you better
Saying you don’t love me now
Is it making you better
Saying you don’t love me now

Neilson’s sound is in the same vein of Cassadee Pope – powerful vocals with a country meets pop/rock twist. “Left Unsaid” was produced in Nashville, Tennessee by Robbie Artress (Chris Stapleton, Ben Folds, and Randy Rogers Band); instrumental tracking by brothers Gideon Klein, Gabe Klein, and Ellen Angelico, who have all played with artists such as Tenille Townes, Delta Rae and Lauren Jenkins, and Grant Mickelson who has played with artists such as Taylor Swift, George Strait, and Kenny Chesney.

Pre-Save “Left Unsaid” here. The single as well as its companion video will be available on August 28.
