From April 13-15th, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) honored pop music’s hottest songwriters, producers and publishers for at the 2021 ASCAP Pop Music Awards. Taking home the prestigious title of ASCAP Songwriter of the Year for the first time in his career was pop superstar Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, while ASCAP Pop Music Awards Song of the Year went to Post Malone’s “Circles” and Warner Chappell Music was named Publisher of the Year.
Even though this might have been the ASCAP Pop Music Awards, the celebration was also shared by some of the best songwriters in country music as cross-over hits earned the title of “Most Performed Songs. Check out the list of songs below:
