Nashville, Tenn. – Country music singer/songwriter Chance McKinney is letting the lyrics speak for themselves in his brand new single, “Kill A Man,” available today, Friday, October 14.  Produced by Kevin Ray Lawson, the deceptive title disguises the new tune for what it really is – a love song cautioning the repercussions of heartbreak. Listen to “Kill A Man” now.

With successful singles under his belt, McKinney felt inspired to write something to shake up the typical country song format. Armed with just the title, McKinney joined forces with Taylor Goyette and Brian Pruitt to craft a lyrical play on words that is rooted in romanticism and love for one’s significant other.

“‘KIll A Man’ is the love song I never knew I wanted to write,” says McKinney.  “I walked into the writing session with a title and an idea. ‘Kill A Man’… as a love song.  But once we dug in, Brian, Taylor and I found it was a pretty simple concept. Taylor was engaged, Brian and I both married to wonderful women.  And it didn’t take me long to realize I’d die without her.”

“Kill A Man” marks a new chapter for McKinney who has built a hefty career within his own subset genre of industrialized country.  The release continues to solidify what fans have long known, McKinney is a storyteller. Pushing boundaries and always looking for ways to evolve, McKinney’s discography highlights musical growth and personal integrity that only strengthens with each new song. Having shared the stage with country music heavyweights including Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Alan Jackson and many more, the Montana native is no stranger to entertaining as he proved when he won CMT’s 4th Annual Music City Madness competition. His wide range of influences combine to make music that connects with the masses as seen on his most recent EP Want ‘Em All, with the title track garnering over 1.6 million streams on Spotify alone, and numerous charting singles including “Backyard” which hit No. 53 on the Billboard Indicator chart. As he looks to close out the year, fans can expect more music, more shows and more authentic McKinney.
