“When we went to film Sid’s story, his family really wanted to surprise him and take him virtually to his old backyard where he loved his garden and took care of his house. Another family bought the house, but they were so gracious to let us film it to show him. I had a recent Zoom call with Sid recently and he is such a remarkable guy,” shares Dawson.

During the episode, Dawson talks with Sid’s daughter, Barbara, who highlights the legacy and impact that Sid has had on his family and everyone he has encountered in his life. Part of this episode takes place at the special house that Sid and his wife of over 60 years, Arlene, lived in for 30 years. This home serves as a backdrop of countless memories and the picture-perfect landscape where family gatherings occurred regularly. Sid’s passion for life and commitment to family is not only carried out through his daughters, Barbara and Carrie but for generations to come including his two-year-old grandson. Dawson’s visit with Barbara and Sid at Meridian Senior Living showcases the love their family shares as their radiant smiles shine brightly even through their masks.

“There are so many wonderful things happening right now,” shares Dawson. “To be collaborating with Meridian Senior Living for ‘Seniors & Songwriters’ and to work on music for the movie ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ is surreal. I am deeply honored to have been a part of the making of this series and this movie. I was blown away when R. Madhavan called me and told me he wanted to write a song with me for his film. The trailer has hit number #1 on Twitter, reached the Prime Minister of India, and will continue reaching people’s hearts all over the world. This story and this movie are breathtaking.”

The Texas-bred, Nashville-based virtuoso is also set to be the first American country artist ever to have a song featured in a Bollywood film. Dawson wrote “Through Thick And Thin” over WhatsApp with notable Indian actor, writer, and film producer R. Madhavan for the upcoming Bollywood movie, “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.” The patriotic film directed and produced by R. Madhavan is based on the true story of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer who underwent many hardships throughout his career all while making significant changes. Dawson hopes to impact millions with the message of the film, highlighting the life of Nambi Narayanan and making history by having the first country song included in a Bollywood film with “Through Thick And Thin” which was mixed by: Chris Lord-Alge, mastered by: Brad Blackwood and produced and recorded by Dawson.

“It was an absolute pleasure and a complete honor to work with Billy,” shares R. Madhavan. “There was an immediate synergy and it was so very easy to communicate with him, the very essence of Indian emotions we were trying to portray in the song. It reiterated something I always believed. That in essence, there are inexplicable yet striking similarities between our two cultures. The lyrics in the song resonated so well that we have five Indian versions of the song that we got done with Billy. I thank God for making Billy and Nashville part of this film and my life “
