Cody Jinks Signs With Rounder Records; Label Debut ‘Lifers’ To Be Released July 27, 2018

New Single Slated For Release June 15

Thirty Tigers Signs Pact To Release Jinks’ Catalog

Nashville, TN – Cody Jinks, whose last album was widely hailed as one of the best country albums of 2016, has signed with Rounder Records. His debut for the label, Lifers, is slated for release July 27.

The first single from the album, “Must Be the Whiskey” is due out on June 15.

Rounder Records President John Strohm said, “When I became the President of Rounder in the Fall of 2017, I’d already been involved in Cody’s career for a couple years. I’m well aware of his immense talent, personal integrity, and work ethic.” He continues, “It’s been my top priority since I started my job last fall to sign Cody, and I could not be more thrilled for Rounder and Concord Music to have the opportunity to work with such an incredible, groundbreaking artist.”

Tom Whalley, Chief Label Officer at Concord, concurs. “Cody is a very special, unique, one of a kind artist. He’s an abundantly gifted singer, songwriter, and performer, and I’m very proud that he has chosen to work with our team at Rounder.”

“I set out to find a great partner to license my new album to – a record company that believed in my music and my vision, ” said Jinks. “I definitely found that with Rounder Records.”

Jinks has employed a unique marketing strategy that has enabled him to sell in excess of 225k independently-released recordings and consistently sell out shows all over the United States, propelling him to the forefront of the country music scene. His recordings and raucous live shows have earned him a loyal and growing fan base (#Flockers) and have made him a favorite among critics.

Writing in Rolling Stone, Jon Freeman observed “Sturgill Simpson’s cosmic experiments have made him an upper-echelon entertainer, Jason Isbell’s poetic flair has labeled him a revered tunesmith and Whitey Morgan – with whom Jinks has toured – has injected a gritty Rust Belt pride into his sweaty live shows. But Jinks may be the most palatable of the lot, blending an innate knack for hooks with the DGAF attitude suited for a rebel,” while Saving Country Music’s Kyle Corneos declared “2018 will be the year of Cody Jinks in country.”

Independent distribution and label services company Thirty Tigers has entered into an agreement to reissue Jinks’ back catalog, including 2016’s breakthrough I’m Not the Devil. “In all my years of doing this, I can’t remember an act whose organic growth has happened so explosively. It’s a testament to the artist and his palpable honesty, but also to his amazing team who pull all the right levers at the right time. It’s an honor to fight for his body of work so far, and I predict that upon the release of the new album, his trajectory will continue at the same explosive pace,” said label CEO David Macias.

Jinks responds, “I’ve been doing business with Thirty Tigers for a couple of years now. They’ve proven to me that they’re believers who work very hard. I couldn’t have picked a better home for my catalog.”

Cody Jinks is currently on tour and will remain so through the rest of the year. Expect a very big announcement from him in the coming weeks regarding his inaugural LOUD AND HEAVY FEST, which will take place in Fort Worth, Texas this August and include Jinks and approximately 10 other acts.
