NASHVILLE, TN — Singer/songwriter Bobby Marquez is amongst the Texas music artists being honored at the 2021 CMA of Texas Awards Show. The South Texas native, who now resides in Nashville, Tennessee, is set to perform his song, “Speak Love,” which has been named Americana Song of the Year by the respected organization. The event is schedule for Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Cook’s Garage in Lubbock, Texas. The lineup includes the best of the Texas stars and legends Tanya Tucker (Living Legend Award), Dennis Quaid (songwriter of the year) and Johnny Rodriguez (Top of Texas Award).

Bobby Marquez shares, “It doesn’t get any better than a huge pat on the back like this from your home state. My music is a taste of Texas. On every song you’ll hear hints of the Honky Tonk, Western Swing and Tejano I was raised on, right along with a heavy dose of character and hospitality that is born out my Texas pride.”

The CMA of Texas Americana Song of the Year, “Speak Love,” is the closing track on Bobby Marquez’s latest album titled, “The Cowboy Way.” Marquez wrote the song with award-winning songwriter Karen Staley (“Take Me As I Am” and “Hey Baby, Let’s Go to Vegas” by Faith Hill, “Keeper of the Stars” by Tracy Byrd, “On A Night Like This” by Trick Pony and more).

“The message had been heavy on my heart for some time, ‘you can’t take back ugly words.’ We wrote the song the night before I recorded my album, so we decided to keep it simple, just the guitar and fiddle with some heartfelt words that came out of our strong Faith, hoping to spread some kindness,” states Bobby Marquez.

Tickets are available now to attend the 2021 CMA of Texas Awards Show on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cmaoftexas. “I am a fan of every one of the winners. Penny Gilley had me on her tv show. Billy Bowles is a wonderful supporter, playing my music on his radio show. And I’ll guarantee it will be a night of some great music. I can’t wait,” shares Marquez.

In the meantime, Bobby Marquez will be performing that award-winning song and others when he makes a guest appearance on RFD-TV’s popular program, Larry’s Country Diner on March 18, 2021.
