Borderline Music Co. to Release Debut Album ‘Precious Souls’ September 10th

September 10th, 2021 brings the release of Borderline Music Co’s debut album ‘Precious Souls’. Formed in early 2019, the four-piece from Essex (UK) have used their collective 150 years of experience in the music industry to hone their pick-and-mix of Americana, country-rock, blues and folk.

The group is made up of Keith Farr (guitar/vocals/mandolin), Vic Collins (pedal steel/guitar/vocals – formerly of British pop band The Kursaal Flyers), John Holburn (drums/vocals) and Belinda Barnes (bass/vocals). Having previously been in bands with each other and meeting through the local music scene, the foursome decided to channel all of their influences into a brand new collaboration. ‘Precious Souls’ is the result of their new-found musical energy and freedom.

All four members of Borderline Music Co. are songwriters and often rotate their lead vocalist. Their harmony-driven songs move through the country-rock tones of ‘Don’t Call The Preacher’ and the blues riffs of ‘Slippery Slope’. ‘Cream Cadillac’ is a rock’n’roll tune written about a car, while ‘This Road’ ponders life as a musician on the road. Other lyrical themes include heartache, regret and hard-learned life lessons. Scattered with pedal steel solos and tied together with organic production, this record’s eclectic tracklist will resonate with fans of Tom Petty, Lukas Nelson and Traveling Wilburys.

The album was recorded at a private rehearsal room in Essex, and produced and mixed by drummer John Holburn. “Having access to our own studio allowed us to embrace the creative side of recording, meaning we could arrange, change and rewrite songs as we went. The process was a lot of fun and hopefully that comes across to our listeners.

The band also enjoy creating their own music videos, so keep an eye on their socials for more video content and gig dates.
