Nashville-based country artist Bobby Watson can remember how important Travis Tritt’s classic song “Down The Road I Go” was to him as an aimless and constantly on the road teenager moving from city to city growing up.  The sense of freedom it provided was priceless back then and now he again embraces that free spirited self with a super-charged homage to Tritt on his new single.  On “Down The Road I Go,” Watson’s rich and soulful voice is again at the forefront of the fiery version that was produced by award-winning producer Jason Kyle Saetveit which features Derek Wells on electric guitar, Patrick McGrath on acoustic guitar, Richard Brinsfield on bass, Alex Wright on keyboards and Evan Hutchings on drums.  “Down The Road I Go” was released on May 21 and is available across digital platforms.

Says Watson: “If I had to pick the album that was the soundtrack of my teens it’d have to be Travis Tritt’s ‘Down The Road I Go.’ I wore that CD out in my ‘87 Jeep Wrangler, and still remember the sense of freedom that came with cranking up that title track and cruising around central Florida with no real responsibilities. The unsettled nature of the song didn’t just hit home in my teenage years though. I spent most of my life moving from place to place and have held just about every other job you can think of, but luckily, unlike the song, I’ve found the person who grounds me and brings me peace, all while embracing my free-spirited side.
