Bobby Bare Releases Title Track From Forthcoming Album ‘Great American Saturday Night’

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  – Gearing up for the release of his new album Great American Saturday NightBobby Bare is releasing the title track today. In a time when people can’t experience a Saturday night out on the town, Bare is taking it to them through their speakers as he portrays nearly every aspect of a “Great American Saturday Night.” Written by the late, great wordsmith Shel Silverstein, this tongue-in-cheek song will encourage fans to live it up on Saturday once again. Listen to the song here, produced by Bare with Bill Rice.

The lyrics of ‘Great American Saturday Night’ chronicle a wild Saturday night out on the town — and waking up the next morning. The day is gray and the hangover is real, ‘but Saturday is only six days away!’ Bare sings” – Angela Stefano, The Boot

“Bobby Bare’s new Great American Saturday Night album will include a rebel-rouser that’s perhaps even more relevant today than it was when he first recorded it” – Billy Dukes, Taste of Country

Rolling Stone says of the lead single “Living Legend”: “Bare’s weather-beaten narrator wrings every ounce of vintage honky-tonk pathos from the tune without a hint of self-pity or resentment.” – Stephen L. Betts

Great American Saturday Night, releasing on April 17, is a Sony Legacy/BFD release in partnership with 117 Music. This album is the end cap to the many critically-acclaimed collaborations between Bare and Silverstein, which includes Lullabys, Legends and Lies, Singin’ in the Kitchen, Hard Time Hungrys, The Winner and Other Losers, Bare, Down and Dirty, Drunk and Crazy, Drinkin’ From the Bottle, Singin’ From the Heart, Old Dogs (w/ Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis and Jerry Reed).
