Nashville, Tennessee – Billy Ray Cyrus has brought joy to fans of all ages through an illustrious music career and his various television characters, and yesterday he spent the day celebrating the first anniversary of Seacrest Studios with staff, patients and families at Nashville’s Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Connie and Gary Seacrest, parents of radio and television talent Ryan Seacrest, were also on hand for the festivities at the state-of-the-art studio. Housed just inside the Children’s Hospital, Seacrest Studios is a partnership between Vanderbilt and the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which has been building broadcast media centers in pediatric hospitals across the country since 2010.

After visiting with the Seacrests, Cyrus was interviewed by station program manager Mamie Shepherd. Several patients gathered around microphones to ask questions about his music, his family, favorite food, animals on his farm and more. He then had everyone in the room join him in singing his signature hit “Achy Breaky Heart.” Studio programming was broadcast to patient rooms via closed-circuit televisions so that all patients could participate in the fun.
