They self-released their debut EP in their senior year of high school, graduated this past June and are spending their summer writing and recording songs for their upcoming EP series Mustang Vol 1 and Mustang Vol. 2. Pop-Country-Americana trio Auburn Road is Alicia Paulson, Paxton Martin and Kristen Brown.
“A mustang woman is strong, fearless and lively. She looks her fears straight in the eyes and goes for it. She’s wild and brave, just like a mustang.” Explains Paxton “Three qualities I admire in a Mustang woman are determination, strength, and pride. A Mustang woman will put in the amount of work it takes to achieve her goals.” Kristen adds “My father was adopted, and we knew nothing about my biological grandmother until one day we were given a paper that described her appearance & personality. It listed things like determined, strong willed, hard-working. This song started out to be about my grandmother, but as we were writing it we realized that it was about all of the strong women we’ve looked up to in our lives and the kind of women we strive to be.” – explain Alicia
Although they are only 18 years-old they have already dedicated most of their life to music and released their independent debut EP Fancy in late 2016. “These three are on a mission to enlighten and empower with their breathtaking harmonies and an undeniable uniqueness of their own” — Subba Cultcha
The trio has launched a PledgeMusic, crowdfunded campaign, for their upcoming EP series Mustang Vol 1 and Mustang Vol. 2. with plenty of pledger only exclusives. Pledge items include the new EP’s, video chats, skype performances, vinyl test pressings, studio PA for a day, exclusive design t-shirts, hats, hoodies, hang-outs with the group, your name in the liner notes, personally recorded special occasion messages sung by the girls, private shows, and PledgeMusic firsts, a day at LA County Fair this September 2017 with the girls, hang out, eat fair food and watch their performance from the stage. Another Pledge only exclusive is a day and a half fishing with pro bass fisherman Kent Brown (Kristen’s Dad,) host of the Ultimate Bass Radio Show on Clearlake. Package includes an overnight stay at Konocti Vista Casino, a full selection of Strike King bait, Plano tackle box and the Pledger will be a guest on the Ultimate Bass Radio show.
