NASHVILLE, TN –– Anita Cochran, an ACM and CMA nominated singer/songwriter who has battled triple positive breast cancer since August 2017, will perform her self-penned single “Fight Like A Girl” for Good Morning America’s breast cancer awareness event of the same name – “Fight Like A Girl” on Friday, October 5. Good Morning America’s inspiration for the campaign title was Cochran’s “Fight Like A Girl” as it carried a message of strength and determination in the face of incredible challenge.

Through her own charity, The Love Anchors Fund, Cochran will donate proceeds of “Fight Like A Girl” single sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for the week following her performance on Good Morning America (October 5 – 12). Throughout the month of October, The Love Anchors Fund will donate to various other causes and charities. Cochran, the first female artist in the history of country music to write, produce, and play multiple instruments including lead guitar on her debut release, was at the top of her game and a big touring force across the United States when her world came to an abrupt halt when she was diagnosed and told she had triple positive breast cancer in August of 2017. Cochran, always a strong and giving woman in every aspect of her life, stood tall and began the fight of her life. She turned to her songwriting for strength and solace and the result is her latest single, “Fight Like A Girl.” The song has gone on to not only give herself courage and determination but has been a source of courage and inspiration to many women all over the world who have been facing the same challenge as well as others.

Maybe my journey can help people. I feel like that’s my purpose now.” – Anita Cochran

Cochran, who just last week finished her last chemotherapy treatment surrounded by her many friends and her doctors and nurses at Vanderbilt Ingrahm Cancer Center in Nashville, TN, has a busy month ahead paying it forward as she participates in numerous Breast Cancer Awareness events and performances.
