Nashville, TN – A simple idea that started as a group text thread between now-legendary songwriters Luke Laird, Lori McKenna, and Barry Dean has recently blossomed into an all-new collection of their works, together and apart. Last Friday, the final of three volumes of Laird, McKenna, and Dean’s The Songwriter Tapes was released by CN Records. Anchored by songs like Dean’s Tim McGraw hit, “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools,” McKenna’s haunting version of “Girl Crush” which was made famous by Little Big Town, and Laird’s performance of his memorable co-write with Eric Church, “Give Me Back My Hometown,” each volume of The Songwriter Tapes taps into each writer’s storied back catalog as well as one yet-to-be-heard tune.
