Adam Rutledge Releases “Unwind” Off Upcoming Album ‘Don’t Stop’

American Songwriter Exclusively Premieres First Listen

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country-rocker Adam Rutledge reminds listeners to take time for themselves to decompress with the release of his new single, “Unwind,” available now. Written by Rutledge, Jeff Smith and Julie Wood, the song is the fifth release off Rutledge’s first full-length album, Don’t Stop, dropping Sept. 18. To stream or download “Unwind,” click HERE.

American Songwriter exclusively premiered a first listen to the “career-establishing single that cements him not only as a potent songwriter but a stirringly compelling performer as well (American Songwriter)” and chatted with the Virginia native about catching the attention of hit singer-songwriter and fellow Virginian Phil Vassar. Rutledge has opened several shows for Vassar as well as Old Dominion, Brothers Osborne, LOCASH, Eli Young Band, Lauren Alaina and Chris Janson.

“I cover a lot of ground on this record. I sing about love, women, heartbreak, trucks, beer, sunsets, Texas, old flames and most importantly given the stress and uncertainty we’re living in, I sing about taking a little time to decompress and relax. That’s what ‘Unwind’ is all about,” shared Rutledge.

To celebrate the release of Don’t Stop, Rutledge is set to perform at Salem Civic Center’s Drive-In on Sept. 18 at 7:00 p.m. EST in Salem, Va. For tickets and more information, click HERE. Don’t Stop follows the soulful singer-songwriter’s 2018 EP, Runway, which featured seven songs “everyone can relate to brought to life with his warm, evocative voice and searing guitar (Deborah Evans Price, Billboard/Sounds Like Nashville)” and “storytelling that features clever turns of phrase (Sterling Whitaker, Taste of Country).”
