Award Announced Today (4/14) on CBS This Morning
Nashville, Tenn. – Multi-Platinum entertainer Kane Brown today joined anchors Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil on “CBS This Morning” to discuss his two ACM nominations and the launch of his upcoming Blessed & Free Tour. There, Brown was surprised on-air by King with the news of his official win for ACM Video of the Year for “Worldwide Beautiful.” To watch the clip, click here. The award marks Brown’s first official ACM Award win. Brown is also nominated for ACM Album of the Year and will perform during the live ACM Award telecast on Sunday, April 18th.
Directed by Alex Alvga, the video for “Worldwide Beautiful” pairs a timely message of unity with symbolic imagery and continues the song’s “powerful” (Billboard) message of “advocating for equality and love” (Taste of Country).
Brown co-wrote “Worldwide Beautiful” with Shy Carter, Ryan Hurd and Jordan Schmidt. Recognized for his “highly personal storytelling” (Time), Brown’s triumph over his own adverse upbringing mirrors the hope of a more beautiful world, one where our children will be writing the next chapter. In that spirit, Brown appears with his daughter, Kingsley, in the video. Additionally, he pledged to raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club (BGCA) of America with the proceeds from the song “Worldwide Beautiful,” and recently donated $100,000 to the organization.
