Logan Mize Brings It Back to His Kansas Roots with Performance at The Granada

Contributed by: Stephen Theno (Guest Contributor)

We handed the reins over and asked guest correspondent, Kansas native, and all around music lover Stephen Theno to check out one of his favorites Logan Mize, November 19th, at The Granada  in Lawrence Kansas. Check out his recap of the night below.

Logan Mize definitely hasn’t forgotten where his roots are planted. Raised in the small town of Clearwater, Kansas Mize sings about what every Kansasan knows all too well: sunflowers, prairies, flat plains, and those gorgeous Kansas’ sunsets.

Logan brings a standout, raw, gritty voice that simply can’t be replicated, not even by the advanced technology in a computer. What you hear is 100% legitimately him, every time, no auto tune, just a pure rock and roll country voice.

Logan is currently living in Nashville after recently being signed to Sony and releasing his third album, “Can’t Get Away From A Good Time.” The title track is based on being raised in a small Kansas town, “you go out and try to mow your yard and next thing you know your buddies show up with a case of beer” Mize said at his recent performance at The Granada in Lawrence, KS.

As well as being a Nashville recording artist, Logan keeps busy being a Kansas Tourism ambassador, a husband, and a father of two children.

Mize can be found touring the Midwest playing sold out honky-tonks, concert halls, and a variety of outdoor venues, sometimes he’s  in a bus, others a van, and heck sometimes he even breaks out his Chevy Caprice station wagon, “Glen”.

Regardless of where he is playing, or what he uses to get there you can always count on him putting on one hell of a show and singing songs inspired by the one thing I know everything about, being from the beautiful state of Kansas.
