On a rainy Wednesday evening in Indianapolis, Old National Center was the place to be for cozy vibes, refreshing drinks, and a night of music that warmed the soul courtesy of “Acoustic Stars & Guitars.” Hosted by local country radio station Country 97.1 Hank FM and sponsored by Barefoot Wines, the event included some of country music’s finest voices; Lee Brice, Jerrod Niemann, Chase Rice, and Dylan Scott.

In the sold out theatre, the four entertainers parlayed the tunes, told the stories and joked a few, but always had the audience at attention; on their feet for all their favorite tunes and sitting intently for a new one or two.

Dylan Scott, a young buck and new dad, was first to start.  He got the crowd going with his latest single “Hooked” as well as “Crazy Over Me” and his chart-topping, Gold-certified single “My Girl”. Scott’s wave of success may just be getting started, as he showed he has the staying power in this industry.

Chase Rice, the country hunk with a killer grin, was killing it with an acoustic version of his hits “Ready to Roll,” “Gonna Wanna Tonight,” and “Three Chords & The Truth,” as the crowd willfully sang along.  He even sang his #1 hit he wrote for Florida Georgia Line Cruise.”

Lee Brice sang tunes his fans came to hear while intermittently bantering with his stage mates, but always kept the crowd singing along to songs such as “Hard To Love,” “Boy,” and the forever cherished patriotic tune “I Drive Your Truck.”  Songs that he sings with every fiber of his being and ones that filled every crevice of the old theater.

Jerrod Niemann followed suit. The midwestern country crooner with a big smile and a hearty laugh sang fan favorites like “I Can Drink To That All Night,” “Lover, Lover,” and his new one “I Got This.”  But the song that got to the crowd the most was a touching patriotic tune “Old Glory,” one not even his label was aware of. Playing acoustic guitar and singing harmony beside Niemann was his guitar player whose son had just enlisted, making the performance a goosebumps moment.

Before the night ended, the guys came back out for an encore with a killer mashup of Marshall Tucker Bands’ “Can’t You See,” Guns N’ Roses “Paradise City,” and The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” making the crowd wishing the night would never end.
