Brothers Osborne Keep It Authentic With ‘Port Saint Joe’

A year ago, Brothers Osborne had just wrapped up another tour when they found themselves in the sleepy little town of Port Saint Joe. They ended up in a beach house where they spent their time recording new music, free from life’s distractions and the by-product is nothing short of pure brilliance. Appropriately titled Port Saint Joe, this much-anticipated sophomore album from the two-time ACM “Vocal Duo of the Year” lives up to its expectation and finally arrives this Friday, April 20.

The first track “Slow Your Roll” sets the ambiance for the whole album. With the fusing of the ocean waves and guitar, the track is the perfect reminder to jump out of life’s rat race and take a little time to de-stress. The duo’s current single “Shoot Me Straight” is assuredly a stand out with a breathtaking guitar riff that makes it extraordinary. It’s simple to see why they choose this to be the first single off their album.

“Tequila Again” has us reminiscing all those nights we swore off drinking, but somehow found ourselves in the same position down the road.  This song will have you swaying along with your friends, while enjoying a little tequila. The Brothers slow it down and get sentimental with “Pushing Up Daises (Love Alive)” – a subtle love song about growing old together until the day you die. The message is sweet, refreshing, and uncomplicated.

Closing out the album with “While You Still Can” was an impeccable choice; reminding us that things don’t last forever and enjoy the moments while you can. With the events that have happened not only in the country music community but in the world, “While You Still Can” is a heartwarming reminder to everyone. The advice is straightforward and the melody is graceful.

Brothers Osborne achieve what few artists can: exhibiting their energetic vocals and impressive guitar skills consistently on all of their tracks. Port Saint Joe displays TJ and John’s true capability when it comes to song writing, vocal skills and playing the guitar. “Port Saint Joe” sets Brothers Osborne apart from what is normally heard in country music with their differentiating sound and song spectrum. There is a track for every mood you could find yourself in, partying, love, heartbreak, and relaxation. It is apparent that the Brothers poured their heart and souls into Port Saint Joe and fans will not be dissatisfied.
