The incredibly talented Maren Morris. This girl has it all – a soulful voice, serious songwriting skills and amazing style! We at TCN are huge fans of hers so here are five reasons why she’s our #WCW this week!

1. Her talent speaks for itself; there’s no need for a huge production. Just her vocals and perhaps some guitar. Don’t believe us? Check out her performance of “This Is Why We Can’t Be Friends” with Ryan Hurd from this year’s Tin Pan South.

2. And she can hold her own with the boys, outshining them in many cases. Proof in point: that time when she sang Chris Stapleton’s “Fire Away” with Brothers Osborne. There is A LOT of soul in that petite frame.

3. Her sense in fashion is just on point!

4. In addition to the 11 tracks on her debut album Hero, Morris’ songwriting credits include Tim McGraw’s “Last Turn Home,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Second Wind,” Brothers Osborne’s “Greener Pastures,” Jessie James Decker’s “Clint Eastwood” and several songs on the hit show NASHVILLE.

Listen to “Wake Up When It’s Over,” written and performed by Morris and Michael Logen. (Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio performed the song on the show).

5. And last but not least – Two Words: My Church  (and Hero made TCN’s Best of 2016 Thus Far. Read here).
