#ChristmasTake5: Favorite Christmas Foods

“ . . . . while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads. . . . “
The Night Before Christmas

Sugar plums, pecan pie, mashed potatoes and gravy. . . . . . bring it all!!! Because you can’t have Christmas without the food! See what The Young Fables, Ashley McBryde, Lance Carpenter, and more have to say about their favorite Holiday dishes!

2 Steel Girls
Krystal: My favorite holiday food is my dad’s cheeseball. He only makes it twice a year! It’s delicious!
Allison: Margaritas LOL.

The Young Fables
We don’t cook but we do eat —a lot.
Wes: My favorite thing is my mama’s spiced tea. Don’t your hopes up. It’s not spiked but it’s spiced and I don’t know what’s in it.
Laurel: Anything dessert for me—-anything chocolate.

Lance Carpenter
I’m a big green bean casserole fan and my Mamaw’s “Chocolate Stuff” is the best thing in the world.

Shannon Amber
I always make at least 4 buche de noels (holiday yule logs) chocolate cake made into a roll with cream filling, chocolate buttercream frosting, and powdered sugar to look like snow.

Ashley McBryde
GRAVY!!! Gravy on everything! And lasagna. It feeds an army.

Alisa Fuller (Music City CMT)
My family has the same food on Thanksgiving and Christmas – my favorites are the stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy and sweet potato pie. I would eat sweet potato pie daily if it wasn’t going to go straight to my hips.

Re Mattei
Santa’s White Christmas coffee, warm crab dip, squash casserole, pumpkin pie with lots of whip cream.

Jillian Cardarelli
Pumpkin pie and homemade sugar cookies with homemade frosting

Stephen Barker Liles (Love and Theft)
I love our Christmas lunch breakfast food after we open all our gifts. We make a big breakfast with my mom’s world famous gravy and flake biscuits.

Southern Halo
Natalia– turkey and dressing
Christina – fresh cranberry sauce
Hannah – gingerbread cookies

Walker Montgomery
KY bourbon balls

Chancey Williams
Corn and Oysters (Williams Family Thing)

. . . . apparently. . . . you get the prize for the most unusual that’s for sure 😉

Levi Hummon
Any kind of pie!

Red Marlow
Sweet potato casserole

Charles Parker
Mom’s Chocolate covered Peanut Butter Candies.

Dustin Olson
All of it. Ham, Prime rib, homemade mashed potatoes. My aunt makes these amazing fresh baked rolls. That pink marshmallow fruit salad that I think only grandmas somehow know to make is probably my favorite dessert. Put any of that in front of me and the belt is going to be coming out a few notches.

Bobby Marquez
Christmas cookies and candied pecans are my weaknesses.

Dee Jay Silver
Hot Wings

Liddy Clark
So many good ones, but mac & cheese is my all time favorite.

LYRX
I wish y’all could try my mom’s turkey dressing! It’s seriously a GAME CHANGER. I wait all year long for Thanksgiving and Christmas for this stuff. It’s made with homemade cornbread and turkey broth. I could have an entire meal out of my mom’s dressing.

Chris Turner
All of it but if I must choose, I’d say Ham, Mac-N-Cheese, and sweet potato casserole (which is my kryptonite).

Spence Reed
My uncle makes the best sweet potatoes in the world. Just LOADED with brown sugar.

Jeff Clayborn
Cornbread stuffing!

Carolyn Routh (of Nu-Blu)
Daniel’s favorite holiday food is without a doubt, sausage balls. As for me, chocolate covered cherries and fruitcake are my guilty pleasures.

Tina Adair (of the current Grammy Nominated group Sister Sadie):
My mama’s Chicken ‘n Dressing.

Kelsey Lamb
My favorite holiday food is for sure all the Christmas cookies!
