Of the new single, Onoleigh shared “So many songs revolve around the concept of someone completing you. When we wrote this song, it was important to me to share a different perspective, one where you’re able to just go out and have a great time.”

The summer anthem lauded as “more than just a song; and a  celebration of life’s simple pleasures” (Guitar Girl Magazine),  “Why Can’t We Dance” was featured by Guitar Girl Magazine and Essentially Pop. “Why Can’t We Dance” is the follow-up to Onoleigh’s previously released songs “Beautifully Broken” co-written with Brandon Hood, and “Make It Hurt,” the latter written by Maren Morris, Rhett Akins, and Chris DeStefano.

The rising singer-songwriter was raised in Mahomet, IL, and made the move to Nashville to pursue her career in music. Since her debut single “Ghost Stories,” which garnered over 20,000 streams across platforms in less than a month, her songs have been featured by CMT, Music Row, Taste Of Country, and more. Most recently, her song “Sunshine & Lemonade” co-written with John Oates, was included in the soundtrack for the movie “Gringa,” which was released earlier this year.

Onoleigh has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry including co-writing songs with John Oates (Hall & Oates), Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift), and working with Producer Brandon Hood (Sam Hunt and Rascal Flatts).

Onoleigh is slated to perform at the CMA Theatre with John Oates (Hall & Oates) on Sept. 6th and will share the stage with Chris Janson later this month. For more information, visit https://www.onoleigh.com/.
