Singer/songwriter JJ Rupp has been connected to music since he first picked up a guitar at the age of six. Since then, his passion for creating music that resonates with his listeners grew, leading to 4,000+ live shows to date. 2018 saw the release of his debut EP Wild Things, with the title song earning a spot on Billboard Top 40 Hot Country as well as HeatSeeker #1. Now the Pennsylvania native has released his latest single “Make You Mine” – the title track off his new EP – and is exclusively premiering the official music video with The Country Note today.
Sometimes a song is written with a specific story in mind but when it’s put to film it takes on a new meaning, as was the case with “Make You Mine”. Rupp explains: “When we wrote this song, it felt more like a ‘pleading love’ story but when we made the video, it became more like a story of ‘love will prevail’. The idea now is more about the understanding that things may not always be simple, and that’s okay, because in the end we all want the same thing: a successful, and happy relationship.”
