Exclusive: James Robert Webb Shares Behind the Song Video for “Stories To Tell”

Oklahoma native – and radiologist! – James Robert Webb is back with his new album James Robert Webb available this Friday, May 1. The self-titled release features 13 tracks showcasing his warm baritone and classic country style through upbeat songs and moving ballads.  Tracks like “Now We’re Gettin’ Somewhere” and “I Was The One” will provide fans their fix of country nostalgia while Webb follows in the path of the storytellers before him with “Okfuskee Whiskey,” and “Somethin’ Out of Nothin’.” His current single “Think About It” addresses today’s lack of stopping to smell the roses and enjoying life now that our society has been hardwired to go-go-go.

Perhaps one of the most emotional songs on the album, “Stories To Tell” recounts the tale of a father passing down his guitar to his son as he has grown too old to play it. He reminds his son that even though he is giving him the physical guitar, the son is also inheriting all the stories the guitar has been witness to – the good and the bad – and that it has many more miles to go:

“It’s seen love gone right, and love gone wrong.
It’s played legion halls and honky-tonks.
It’s played every song Merle Haggard ever wrote.
It’s made people dance and people cry.
It’s played eulogies and lullabies,
And Amazing Grace note for note.
Just like me it’s been through hell
But it’s still got Stories To Tell”

Webb sheds some more light on the background of “Stories To Tell” in this Exclusive Behind the Song video:
