Jon Pardi Gives Fans a Dose of Heartache Medication

Jon Pardi grew up in a blue collar California town where he learned about hard work at an early age; that hard work that would eventually pay off in the form of country music.

With the success of his top 10 party song Up All Night,” Pardi’s notoriety continued with the release of his debut album Write You A Song, making him more familiar with young country fans who enjoy the more rowdy scene.  As his popularity grew, Pardi began performing new songs from his second studio album California Sunrise into his sets, and fans got an early taste of unreleased future hits like “Head Over Boots,” which subsequently became his fastest rising single to date.

Following the accolades of his past few singles, Pardi has released his third studio album Heartache Medication (9/27) with the title track gaining traction with fans for its cleverly written lyrics and traditional country sounds melded with modern country flare.

Pardi co-produced the 14-track album along with Bart Butler and Ryan Gore, and co-wrote half of the tracks on the album.  It features rousing country rock tunes like “Oughta Know That” with its heavy guitar groove and steady drum beats as Pardi adds a feistiness to it.  “Me and Jack” provides a steady uptempo beat with a fun equation of the result between Pardi and the iconic liquor Jack Daniels.  The guitar solo mid song turns the dial up on this one, making it a potential concert must.

Old traditional style tunes find their home in the middle with songs like “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” with its fiddle twanged intro and clever lyrics. “Call Me Country” adds steel and a steady traditional arrangement, while adding talks of influencing entertainers to the mix.

When things slow down, Pardi’s softer side lovingly shows and he pulls it off brilliantly.  “Don’t Blame It On The Whiskey” is an excellent duet with Lauren Alaina proving that his vocals are an impeccable blend with the songstress’.  This perfect slow dance type song should become a single, as it’s perfection from the lyrics to the production right down to the delivery (it also has an incredible lineup of co-writers: Eric Church, Michael Heeney, Luke Laird and Miranda Lambert).

There are so many great tunes on Heartache Medication that are full of old stories, love found and love lost, and it’s one that should add a few more hits to his wheelhouse.

Heartache Medication is available here and is a must for any fan’s collection.
