Lee Brice’s “Boy” Is a Beautiful Tribute to His Sons

Curb Records recording artist Lee Brice gets sentimental with his new single “Boy”. As a father to three small children, including two boys, you can see why Brice would choose such a significant song.  Written by Nicolle Galyon and Jon Nite, “Boy” is the first single off of Brice’s upcoming self-titled album being released in November.

The father and son relationship has a unique bond, and sometimes it takes becoming a father to a son to fully comprehend; what you see in that little boy is nostalgia that takes you back to your youth. You can recall all the all the firsts you had: first fight, first love, and first heartbreak. “Boy” enlightens a father’s perspective on that little boy who is a part of him and that love you have for that boy is beyond immeasurable.

Boy, you’re gonna hate this town
Wish you could burn it down
That fire in your eyes is twenty counties wide

We love the simplicity of Brice’s voice, which has the capacity to convey such raw emotion in his songs, and a guitar as the two make for quite the foolproof combination. Brice’s solid, course sound is allowed to radiate, and the devotion he has for every word influences your soul and heart.

And just when your heart can’t take anymore, Brice features his family in the video for “Boy”.
