Kane Brown, the internet sensation turned Country Music’s newest member has teamed up with school chum and country cutie, Lauren Alaina to debate life’s scenarios with “What Ifs”.

Brown, a singer songwriter from Red Bank, TN, made his way to Nashville via the internet, covering songs from Brantley Gilbert, Billy Currington, and Alan Jackson.  Since his arrival he’s released several singles and three albums, his most recent being a self titled full length album released December 2016.  The 11-track album contains previously released tunes Ain’t No Stopping Us Now”, “Thunder In The Rain”, and his latest single, “What Ifs”, released on February 6, 2017 is becoming a fast climber on country charts.

The song’s well written lyrics, penned by Brown, Matthew McGinn, and Jordan Schmidt, detail how a couple go back and forth contemplating their future.  They debate the “what ifs” of their relationship.  The tune begins with Brown going over his girl’s questioning about the future by asking:

You say what if I hurt you, what if I leave you
What if I find somebody else and I don’t need you
What if this goes south, what if I mess you up
You say what if I break your heart in two then what
Well I hear you girl, I feel you girl but not so fast
Before you make your mind up I gotta ask

Brown’s signature low register attacks the verse with ease as Alaina’s tremendous vocals pick up harmony in the chorus.  Together they question, not so much the possible negative, but the positive:

What if I was made for you and you were made for me
What if this is it, what if it’s meant to be
What if I ain’t one of them fools just playin’ some game
What if I just pulled you close, what if I leaned in
And the stars line up and it’s our last first kiss
What if one of these days baby I’d go and change your name
What if I loved all these what ifs away

It’s here where her voice overpowers his at times, but quickly levels out to a beautiful harmony.  The tune, along with its upbeat tempo, is infectious to a fault.  The catchy lyrics become stuck in your head, thus the reason the song is climbing quick and becoming a fan favorite.

“What Ifs” can be downloaded, along with the rest of the album, on all music sites.  You can hear the song live, as Brown is currently in tour with Jason Aldean.
