There’s no doubt that Drake White has become a hot commodity in the country music scene and his third single. “Makin’ Me Look Good Again”  from his debut EP Spark, is adding fuel to his fire. The Alabama native has released the sexy, soulful ballad to radio, and by all accounts it’s sure to be a staple for weddings.

The tune, written by White, Monty Criswell, and Shane Minor, is centered on his love for his wife Alex; for her ability make him look good and feel good to be home after a long time on the road.  The lyrics draw a picture of a road weary musician, gritty and worn out from the road.  He finds it’s his wife that, by just wrapping her arms around him, has the ability to make him look good again.

Worn and haggard, weathered and torn/ Drug through the keyhole of that back door/ Blood shot red behind these shades/ I look like hell, yes I’ve seen better days
And then those loving arms-they pull me back in/ And there you go, baby, yeah, makin’ me look good again”

The smoldering, sensual tune is amplified further with the soulful rasp of White’s voice.  His delivery of the R & B infused tune is impeccable, add in a tender piano, it is the quintessential “baby making” tune.  The video is no different, in that the picture painted, is eloquently portrayed by Drake and his wife.  The tune is becoming wildly popular and has become a staple at his shows.
