Cam Bears The Soul Of the Other Woman With ‘Diane’

Country songstress Cam spills her guts in her new song about “the other woman”, but with one exception – the point-of-view comes from that of the adulteress.

“Diane”, the first single from Cam’s forthcoming studio album, was released on October 27, 2017 and according to the artist, it’s “my response to Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” It’s the apology so many spouses deserve, but never get. The other woman coming forward to break the news to the wife about an affair, respecting her enough to have that hard conversation, once she realized he was married.”

Written by Cam, Jeff Shasker, and Tyler Johnson (team for Burning House), the impressive songwriting will allow women on both sides of this scenario to commiserate while women who’ve never been in this situation follow this apology like watching scenes in a movie.  The upbeat production includes steady drumbeats and lots of guitar, but it’s the impressive A Capella intro of the chorus with Cam and an outstanding group of background singers that set the stage for a great song:

Diane
I promise I didn’t know he was your man
I would’ve noticed a gold wedding band
Diane
I’d rather you hate me than not understand
Ohh, Diane

Key lines like; “And those nights that he’s given to me/ I wish that I could give them back to you” and “ You pick the time and the place/ Don’t know how much this hurts/ I gave him my heart to break/ Now I know he broke yours first” will actually feel empathetic towards to other woman.

Fans are quickly nabbing this as their favorite and it should become a foot stomping, fist pumping anthem at her shows.

The song is available on downloads and streams. For more information on Cam, including where you can find her on tour, visit: www.camcountry.com
