SOUTHERN HALO Celebrates Global Premiere Of “Living Like That” Video On Eve Of Debut U.K. Tour

Taste Of Country Featured Online Friday (3/17); London Press & VIPs Got Sneak Peek
At Gibson Showrooms Premiere Party

Nashville, TN — Southern Halo, the amped-up Country trio of siblings from the Mississippi Delta, celebrated the global release of their newest music video for their hit single, “Living Like That,” on Friday, March 17.  Taste Of Country featured the compelling clip online, while select press and VIPs were given a sneak peek at the Gibson Showrooms in London at an invitation-only premiere party.

Directed by James and Heather Mathews for Mathews Film Company, the video was shot indoors at Nossi College of Art in Nashville due to the city’s fickle winter weather.  The team had one goal:  to keep the video visually exciting.  The storyline evolved into a “bucket list trip” that would also tie back into the song’s title and show the band truly “living like that.”  The Mathews used both green and white screen technology during filming.

“The green screen gave us the freedom to put the girls into all kinds of fun situations, such as driving the car down roller coaster tracks,” James says.  “The white screen setup allowed a detailed, multi-angle band performance, and we utilized consistent movement and screen direction to achieve the sense of ‘travel’ listeners perceive from the song itself,” adds Heather. Director of Photography, Michael Brouphy, utilized a Red Scarlet 4K Cinema Camera for maximum image quality and high detail even under softbank lighting.

Keeping their “joie de vivre” front and center was important for Southern Halo, and each member had their own input into what they found the most memorable part of the video process.  For Natalia, the camaraderie of the crew and the laughs with her sisters were key.  “The day literally flew by so fast I couldn’t believe it,” she recalls.  Christina thought the classic 1963 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible (supplied by The Old Car Garage) was the “coolest.”  “I’ve always been obsessed with old Caddies, and the owner was great.” she adds with a grin.  For Hannah, the “umbrella scene” made the day.  “That was one of the few scenes that were choreographed,” she notes.  “And it was definitely the trickiest one to accomplish.  But I love the way it turned out.”

On Saturday (3/18), Southern Halo kicked off their first tour of the U.K. in London at The Garage.  Additional dates (through March 22) are set for Nottingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle.  The tour enjoys the support of Gibson Guitars, Hilton Manchester Deansgate and Canary Riverside Plaza Hotel, and limited tickets are still available on the Southern Halo website.   “We are in this moment,” confides Natalia.  “This trip is literally opening up a new world to us and we are ready to meet our fans, share the new music and make the most out of this incredible opportunity.”
