Opry Entertainment Set To Launch Eight New Digital Series

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Opry Entertainment is set to launch eight new digital series over the next four weeks celebrating country music, the genre’s top personalities, the city of Nashville, and country living. Throughout its 92 years, the Opry has consistently innovated to reach country fans all over the globe. Beginning with radio, then incorporating television & cinema, the company moves into digital programming which is part of Opry Entertainment’s broad digital strategy to drive interest in and fulfill fans’ appetites for country music. Each series will premiere on the Opry’s YouTube channel, with exclusive features running on a variety of partner sites including ABC News/Good Morning America, Billboard, PEOPLE, Country Rebel and more.

ABCNews.com / GoodMorningAmerica.com will exclusively premiere the series debut of Opry Look Book this Sunday, July 30, featuring Opry member Little Big Town. The episode includes group member Kimberly Schlapman’s sentiments on wearing her first Gucci dress on the Opry stage, member Karen Fairchild’s commentary on Opry guest Pharrell Williams’ Opry wardrobe, and more. Future Opry Look Book episodes feature other artists reflecting on their various Opry stage looks, the progression of their style throughout their careers, and the people and places from which they draw their style inspiration.

Guitar Hacks: The guitar geniuses of the genre explain their favorite guitar tips and tricks, providing fans with a means of boosting their guitar game. Premieres August 8, featuring Keith Urban and more.

Another Round: Hosts Austin & Colin take viewers to Nashville’s best bars, restaurants and coffee shops to learn about the people, places and libations that make them unique. Premieres August 12.

Radio Replay: Country artists put their own spin on the last song they heard on their way to the Opry. Premieres August 14 on Billboard.com

Spotlight Beauty: Country stars reveal the secrets to their beauty routines for their on-stage and off-stage looks. Premieres August 17.

Better Half: The spotlight is on the spouses of country musicians who manage busy careers of their own. From fashion designers to CEOs, these better halves bring their own success stories to the table. Premieres August 19, featuring Shelly Brown (wife of Zac Brown) on PEOPLE.com.

Opry Icons: The lives and times of iconic Opry members who have helped propel the Opry toward the century mark are explored through performance highlights and intimate backstage interviews with legendary country singers and friends. Premieres August 25.

Opry Entertainment’s series roster also includes the recently-launched The Set List, a news show hosted by Jill Wilderman featuring the latest stories about country music’s biggest names. The Set List begins weekly distribution on August 2. Other continued programming includes My Opry Debut, with upcoming installments highlighting momentous first Opry visits by newcomers Jacob Davis, Devin Dawson, and Ashley McBryde.

“We have substantially increased our commitment to the creation of video content that moves beyond performances to the broader interests and passions of both artists and fans,” Opry Entertainment President Steve Buchanan said. “Our goal is to be an important platform for discovery and information about the latest breaking artists, the superstars and the legends of today.”

Buchanan oversees the new division behind the digital program roster and is an executive producer of the drama NASHVILLE, seen domestically on CMT and on six continents and more than 100 territories world-wide. Among Buchanan’s dozens of other production credits are CBS’ Grand Ole Opry 75th: A Celebration and Country at the White House.

Industry veteran Martin Fischer serves as Director of Production for Opry Entertainment. Fischer served as president of High Five Entertainment, an internationally-recognized television production company, for more than 30 years, responsible for overseeing all areas of production and development across High Five’s diverse programming slate. Among his past projects are Garth Brooks’ debut TV special for NBC as well as a Brooks’ follow-up NBC special from Texas Stadium, At The Ryman, Noteworthy: Live At The Opry, the top-rated syndicated outdoor series Secrets Of The Hunt, the 150+ episode drag racing game show Pass Time on Speed Channel, and multiple reality series for CMT Canada, Speed Channel, and MTV2.
