“From elementary school all the way through college, I was involved in music programs and chorus through my schools and that has impacted so much of my life and career,” shares Combs. “I’m grateful the CMA Foundation asked me to be a part of today’s event in Houston. Giving these students the opportunity to discover and learn about music is a really incredible thing to be a part of.”

Despite HISD closing all schools Friday for students to enjoy the ‘Welcome Home’ parade of their newly-crowed Astros World Series Champions, music students and families from Whittier Elementary School still gathered at school in excitement of the announcement and new instrument reveal.

In June 2017, Combs joined his fellow Country music artists for the 2017 CMA Fest, a four-day music festival where artists perform for no cost in an effort to raise funds through ticket sales for music education and the CMA Foundation.

This weekend Combs and his band take on the Texas leg of their Don’t Tempt Me With A Good Time Tour playing sold-out shows at the House Of Blues in Houston and Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth before returning to Nashville for the CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 8th where Combs will be presenting and is nominated for the New Artist of The Year award.
