“What Ifs” Breaks Top 20 of Country Airplay Charts

Nashville, TN – Kane Brown, whose self-titled album remains the genre’s best-selling new artist debut of the past two and half years, reaches two career milestones today with his breakout single, “What Ifs.” Co-written by Brown, Matt McGinn and  Jordan Schmidt and featuring Lauren Alaina, “What Ifs” is Top 20-and-climbing at Country radio and has been officially certified GOLD by the RIAA. “What Ifs” marks the singer/songwriter’s second RIAA Gold-certified single and his first Top 20 hit. His debut single, “Used to Love You Sober,” was certified GOLD earlier this year.

Kane Brown was surprised by the RIAA, Sony Music Nashville and WME executives and staff and industry guests earlier today (7/17) in celebration of the certification. The Academy of Country Music New Male Vocalist and CMT Music Awards Breakthrough Video of the Year nominee first released his debut album in December 2016 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums and Top 10 on the Billboard 200 charts. The album earned Brown the fourth best-selling new artist debut in album sales across all genres. “What Ifs,” Kane’s current single off Kane Brown, has dominated the country streaming charts with more than 66 million streams to date. Kane Brown is produced by Matt McVanay and 9-time ACM Award-winning producer/musician Dann Huff.
