Jared Blake’s Music Video for “Don’t Let Her Be Gone” Hits the Hearts of Drunk Driving Victims Head-On

Nashville, Tenn. — Every 50 minutes one person in America will die as a result of a drunk driving crash.  This staggering statistic hits home for country singer and former NBC’s “The Voice” finalist, Jared Blake, as he and his wife were struck head-on by a drunk driver last May.  Not taking for granted the fact that they are not a statistic, Blake was inspired to create his compelling music video for his new single, “Don’t Let Her Be Gone.”  After Taste of Country premiered the music video, response from fans was overwhelming.

“The heartfelt comments my fans are leaving on socials are so incredibly humbling,” explains Blake.  “My wife and I wanted to share our story in hopes to heal from our own trauma, and we hoped it would be a way to bring awareness to the dangers of driving drunk.  Knowing that the video is connecting to the outside world is not just a huge compliment, but will hopefully make a difference in someone’s life.”

Not only does Blake hold the hope that the message in “Don’t Let Her Be Gone” reach the masses and cause them to make better decisions before getting behind the wheel drunk, the impassioned country singer has found another purpose—telling his story of addiction and redemption to schools around the country through his platform “Live To Be.

Founded in 2015 by Blake and his wife Jennifer, “Live to Be” empowers today’s youth to “fill in the blank” with their own goal for life. The program provides discussions to help teens dig deep within their own desires to gain a positive focus on life, while fighting doubt, confusion, hopelessness, and peer pressure.  Blake has spent the past year partnering with multiple schools across the country sharing a “living above” approach to life with youth.

“Live to Be” partnered with Treatment-Centers.net in 2017 to bring the program to over 100 schools. Visit http://treatment-centers.net for questions and information about drugs, alcohol, effects and treatment resources.
