$500,000 Raised with Special Guests Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Henry Cho

Nashville, Tennessee – Former Nashville Predator NHL Captain Mike Fisher and superstar singer/songwriter and seven-time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood hosted a benefit Sunday night with special guests Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Henry Cho, which raised $500,000 for Danita’s Children. The organization, which was founded in 1999 by Danita Estrella Watts, is dedicated to educating, empowering, and equipping the children and families of Haiti to become Christ-like leaders. Mike and Carrie first visited the center in Haiti back in 2014 and have been passionate supporters ever since.

Emcee Elisabeth Hasselbeck kicked off the evening attended by 400 patrons at the invitation-only event. She introduced comedian Henry Cho, whose fun brand of humor has been featured on NBC’s The Tonight Show, CBS’s The Late, Late, Show, NBC’s Young Comedians Special and on Comedy Central. Carrie Underwood then performed an acoustic set that astounded the audience.

The vision of Danita’s Children is to provide education, nutrition, medical and dental care, and Christ-like love to the children and families we serve. We believe through our teachers, mentors, and house parents we are raising children to discover their purpose and to become the future leaders of Haiti.
