NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Emerging female singer/songwriter, Courtney Cole, released the first taste of her new material she has been working on with producer Lukas Bracewell on Friday (10/28). “Free.99” continues Cole’s optimistic, energetic sound that put her on her map with her debut EP and had her chosen as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country next to strong artists such as Aubrie Sellers and Maren Morris.

Co-written by Cole, Ben Burgess and Bobby Huff, “Free.99” harnesses the feeling of being young and low on resources, but still finding a way to have fun.

“Everyone has felt the struggle of wanting to go out and have a great time with their friends, but not having a lot of extra money to spend,” Courtney explains. “We wrote ‘Free.99’ because we wanted to capture the idea that you don’t need to spend money to have a good time. It’s all about your mentality…if you’re feeling confident and are surrounded by great people, you’re gonna have fun!”

Her new single carries the tenacious singer’s theme of embracing life to the fullest that she captured in the first single “Drunk” that hit No. 1 on the fan-voted Taste of Country’s “Top 10 Countdown” and debuted at No. 8 on CMT Pure’s “12-Pack Countdown.” Cole has been featured on several “Best Of” lists including People Country, The Huffington Post and Sounds Like Nashville.

Cole has been on the road and recently played on the Next From Nashville Stage at the Route 91 Festival in Las Vegas. The Next From Nashville Stage has hosted talented artists such as Chris Stapleton and Sam Hunt as they gained prominence. Rolling Stone recently featured a “Las Vegas” playlist Cole curated in celebration of the significant show.

In addition to being included in the 2016 Next Women of Country, Cole was chosen as this year’s ambassador for CMT’s Empowering Education. In the program, the Louisiana native uses her encouraging spirit to advocate for post-secondary-school education, no matter what age or point they’re at in their life journey.

“Free.99” now available to download and stream.
