Debut Single, “Nothin’ About Love,” Impacting Country Radio February 19
Nashville, Tenn. — Singer/songwriter and actress Ashla Taylo ris set to star as Shania Twain for the upcoming docudrama series titled, “The Price of Fame.” The hour-long episode, airing Sunday, February 18 on cable and satellite network REELZ, will tell the heartfelt story of the pop/country star’s journey into becoming the world’s top-selling female country artist and five- time GRAMMY Award-winner. On the heels of Taylor’s REELZ debut, the country newcomer will release her first radio single“Nothin’ About Love” –impacting airwaves on February 19.
Ashla Taylor is an actress, singer, songwriter, and put quite simply, a force to be reckoned with. She brings an exciting new energy to Nashville that has been cultivated over the past two decades by exposure to an eclectic musical smorgasbord that encompassed a broad range of pop, R&B, and country. But her passion for country music won out when her Nana took her to see Shania Twain in concert. She was only eight years old at the time, but that one exposure to Twain has kept her inspired and motivated ever since. Learning to play guitar, writing her own songs, acting, everything she has done, been, written, and/or lived has somehow been linked back to that one incredible concert experience. Suffice it to say it isn’t just fate that finds her portraying Shania Twain in the upcoming docudrama on the REELZ Network in February.
Taylor says, “When I was asked to audition for the role of Shania, I knew I would not have to do a character study because it was a role I had been unknowingly preparing for my entire life. She had always been my biggest inspiration, my greatest influence. I am so honored to portray such an incredible artist.”
She goes on to say, “I do hope that Shania gets to see the docudrama and when she does I hope she will love the way I portrayed her. I have never met her, but if that day ever comes, you can bet I will be gushing over her and thanking her for being my driving inspiration.”
“The Price of Fame- Shania Twain,” will air Sunday, February 18 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT, giving viewers an intimate perspective on Twain’s life and career, using personal accounts from the celebrity’s friends and colleagues in addition to entertainment journalists. “The Price of Fame” is produced by AMS Pictures.
