Nashville, Tenn. – ASCAP’s Music Row offices set the scene for a double #1 party Tuesday (Jan. 30), hosted by performing rights organizations ASCAP and BMI, to celebrate Warner Music Nashville recording artists Dan + Shay‘s recent chart-topping hits “How Not To” and “From the Ground Up.”

Dan + Shay’s RIAA Gold certified single “How Not To” marked the duo’s third #1 song and was written by first-time ASCAP chart-topping songwriters Kevin Bard, Paul DiGiovanni and Adam Hambrick. The RIAA Platinum certified “From the Ground Up” was co-written by Dan + Shay with ASCAP Grammy Award-winning songwriter/producer Chris DeStefano, and both songs were produced by Dan+Shay’s Dan Smyers with Scott Hendricks.

ASCAP’s Beth Brinker and BMI’s Bradley Collins hosted the festivities, and publishers on hand to celebrate the songs’ successes included Ole’s John Ozier, Red Creative Group’s Jeremy Stover, Sony/ATV’s Troy Tomlinson, Universal’s Kent Earls, and Warner/Chappell’s BJ Hill. To close out the event, Warner Music Nashville Chairman and CEO John Esposito surprised Dan+Shay with plaques commemorating RIAA Gold certification of the duo’s debut album, Where It All Began.
